The American Academy of Pediatrics developed and piloted the Chapter Quality Network (CQN) to provide chapters with the direct support necessary to lead a QI effort. The CQN works at the practice, state and national levels to build a network of AAP chapters, enhancing their ability to lead quality improvement collaboratives to achieve measurable improvements in the health outcomes of children with asthma. Practices aim to achieve measurable improvements in asthma outcomes by implementing the NHLBI guidelines and making CQN key practice changes. The CQN is also piloting a home visiting intervention.

The Medical Home Chapter Champions Program on Asthma (MHCCPA) aims to increase access to medical homes for all children and youth -- especially those with health disparities -- and to facilitate pediatric practices' adoption and implementation of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) asthma guidelines within the context of the medical home.
