Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

    1. Use a case-based approach to make a diagnosis of asthma in the inpatient and outpatient settings
    2. Use a case-based approach to review asthma management, including stepping up therapy, stepping down therapy, and transitioning care from inpatient to outpatient settings
    3. Review historical and exam findings that may suggest the presence of common asthma comorbidities
    4. Use a standardized approach for interpreting a pulmonary function test to assist with asthma diagnosis and management
    5. Improve collaboration among the healthcare team leading to improved communication.
