Federal Agencies are eager to engage with state and local organizations to reduce asthma disparities. Agencies are taking a variety of actions, including:

  • Coordinating existing federal health care programs in underserved communities
  • Reducing environmental exposures in homes
  • Implementing asthma care services and reducing environmental exposures in schools and childcare settings
  • Promoting cross-sector partnerships among community based programs
  • Examining the relative contribution and cost effectiveness of different components of a community asthma care system
