The Respimat Soft Mist Inhaler generates a slow-moving aerosol with a high fine particle fraction, resulting in deposition of a higher proportion of the dose in the lungs than pressurized metered-dose inhalers (pMDIs) or some dry powder inhalers (DPIs).

But many of us really do not know the correct technique of using this new inhaler device. Patients using respimat tend to make critical mistakes as below:

1. Many people remove the transparent base of respimat thereby affecting the medicine efficiency

2.  Patients forget to press the releasing button while inhaling, so there is no medicine intake into the lungs, this may lead to poor asthma and COPD control.

3. Some people press the dose releasing button after they breathe in, this allows the medicine to stay in your throat and does not pass into the lungs.

Health Care professionals when precribing Respimat need to ensure that patients have good training resources to avoid such cruicial mistakes.
