Medi-Cal Community Supports, or in Lieu of Services (ILOS), Policy Guide

Community Supports are services or settings that managed care health plans may offer in place of services or settings covered under the California Medicaid State Plan and that are a medically appropriate, cost-effective alternative to a State Plan Covered Service. Community Supports are optional for managed care health plans to offer and for members to utilize. Managed care health plans may not require Members to use a Community Support instead of a service or setting listed in the Medicaid State Plan.
