Early Childhood Asthma program (ECAP) is a two year asthma initiative by the Community Regional Medical Center aimed at reducing the asthma burden among 0- 5 year old asthmatic children in Fresno County, California. The program is funded by the 'First Five of Fresno' and is effective from Jan 2009 to Dec 2010. The program has three components, A: Asthma education for asthmatic patients, families, school, community workers, and physicians B: Home environmental component with home environmental assessment, education and asthma trigger intervention at home by a community health worker C: Clinical component of early diagnosis, assessment, and management of asthma in 0- 5 year old children, all activities in compliance with the 2007 EPR 3 asthma guidelines.
