The Virginia Department of Health’s (VDH) Asthma Control Project (VACP) is positioned to facilitate a well-orchestrated statewide strategy for helping people with asthma achieve optimal health throughout the lifespan. For nearly six years, the VACP has been a partner and supporter to the Virginia Asthma Coalition (VAC), a group of representatives from local coalitions and statewide organizations with a common interest in improving the lives of people in Virginia who have asthma. This partnership has enabled the VACP to publish a Virginia Asthma Control Plan and a comprehensive asthma surveillance report. In addition, the VACP has provided technical assistance and financial support to add value, create efficiencies, and leverage resources for asthma control throughout the Commonwealth.
