The Virginia Asthma Coalition is a volunteer based organization with the primary objective of lowering asthma morbidity and mortality in Virginia.
Previously, the Virginia Asthma Coalition received funding through the Virginia Department of Health via CDC funding. That is no longer the case, so our organization is in the process of becoming a 501-C3 based not-for-profit organization. We have approximately 80 members who meet for 4 quarterly meetings in Richmond and have teleconference workteams for policy, education, action plans, data, and marketing/communication. Every May we conduct our Close the CASE on asthma campaign.
