I am excited to announce that the Jerome Alston Memorial Foundation will be having its First Annual Breathe Easy 5K Walk for Asthma Awareness at the Virginia Zoo of Norfolk.

We have received much support from the local government Mayors signing Proclamations to recognize our Foundation and event as well as a Proclamation from the Governor of Virginia.

As we all know, May is Asthma Awareness Month and the Jerome Alston Memorial Foundation is joining with thousands of organizations to increase public awareness of the asthma epidemic. This cause is near and dear to my heart because I lost my dad in December 2012 to asthma related complications.

Asthma affects more than 25 million people of all ages and races. And although it is a widespread disease, public awareness of common asthma triggers as well as effective asthma management strategies remain limited.

We cordially invite you to join us at our First Annual Breathe Easy 5K Walk to raise awareness and funds to help get this epidemic under control. This event will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at the Virginia Zoo of Norfolk and will begin at 7:00 am. **Registered participants get to enjoy the rest of the day at the Zoo for FREE!!! Also kids under 7 are FREE**

If you are unable to attend you may donate at www.JeromeAlston.org/donate

Register for the Walk at http://www.active.com/norfolk-va/running/distance-running-races/first-a… you are interested in being a Sponsor please email JeromeAlstonMemorialFoundation@gmail.com
