How do the programs in New England and Seattle pay for IPM? And what does an IPM visit cost in other places beyond NYC where this service is still prohibitively expensive?

Would be great to hear how other cities, groups are handling IPM.

Thank you!

For Seattle, CHWs are trained in basic IPM methods and provide this service as part of the bundle of services they offer to clients. So the funding that covers CHW salarries and resrouces includes IPM.

Hi all

As part of the Asthma Home Visits provided as part of NEAIC included an environmental assessment of the home by the CHW. Most of our providers provided as a standard practice basic suppplies -- covered trash cans, gel baits, food containers (some only provided if evidence or complaints about pests). See a complete list of supplies at http://dev.asthmaregionalcouncil.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/NEAIC-Suggested-Supplies-revised-2013.04.30.xlsx

These supplies, as well as HEPA vacuum and matress encasements were covered by our CMMI funding.  Boston Children's hospital sometimes provides and IPM contractor if there is evidence of a severe problem.
