What is the best way to get cost data, such as inptaient, medication costs, etc? Is the a standard set that is acceptable by various sources?

The best source of cost is "paid claims". This is what the insurer/payer actual pays for the drug or service. Hospitals usually are not a very good source for cost. Hospitals charge for services but the cost differs by both insurer and specific ccontract. Medicaid and other insurers are good partners when you have the capability to address their cost drivers.
