The Rhode Island Department of Health Asthma Control Program provides leadership in the state to reduce hospitalization and ED rates due to asthma.

The program works closely with the Asthma Control Coalition and other partners using a health care systems approach. Interventions and activities take place in the health care, community, surveillance and evaluation, environmental health, and communication systems. Outcomes address access to quality asthma care, quality of life among people in RI with asthma, self management of asthma, and environmental health as it pertains to asthma.
