The Louisiana Asthma Management and Prevention Program focuses on the establishment of a statewide collaboration that develops and implements strategies that reduce the health and economic consequences caused by asthma through evidence-based, data driven best practices.

The program''s focus is to establish a statewide collaboration that develops and implements strategies that reduce the health and economic consequences caused by asthma through evidence-based, data driven best practices. Since 2007, the program has been increasing its efforts to improve the quality of life for individuals with asthma by facilitating community collaborations; establishing an effective surveillance system; advocating for an asthma-friendly environment; and developing a comprehensive asthma education program for schools, providers, and other members of the community.
