Was the smoking cessation program that Kimberlee mentioned for teens, adults, or both?

Hi there! The CEASE smoking cessation intervention is designed to address smoking by any family member or household contact of the patient.  This way, even though the child may be our patient, counseling/referral and NRT is offered for any reported smoker in the household.  Most interventions are for adult family members, but the CEASE kit includes guidelines for prescribing for different age groups.

We also utilize CEASE methodology in the clinic for providers, but our CHWs receive a week-long training to become smoke cessation specialists conducted by Dr. Frank Leone at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. I woudld highly recommend this program.
