Community partners

We identify community partners with similar interests in reducing asthma health disparities, providing asthma care services, and improving asthma outcomes in the state. We also try to work with partners across different sectors as asthma is a disease involving other factors such as environmental and socioeconomic--we partner with housing, environmental and social justice organizations.

We identify new school sites (a key community partner for our program) by determining need within various Chicago neighborhoods and reaching out to schools in the identified neighborhoods.  We have previously done this through sending letters explaining our program, but more recently have been meeting with key personnel from the school for a more personalized approach.
