Who is the Mid-Atlantic Asthma Foundation?
The Mid-Atlantic Asthma Foundation is a Non-profit organization, established to assist individuals living with asthma in achieving asthma control. It was founded in 2004 to help address the growing need for asthma education. The mission of the Mid-Atlantic Asthma Foundation is to help people manage asthma through education, asthma screenings, and attainment of resources. We provide services to many communities throughout Maryland with a vision to expand our efforts into the Mid-Atlantic region.

What is the Mid-Atlantic Asthma Foundation doing about Asthma?
The Mid-Atlantic Asthma Foundation has committed itself to supporting individuals with asthma by engaging in various activities all founded on asthma education.

Asthma Screenings:
Asthma screenings is an awareness program used to provide individuals with information on their level of asthma control. Mid-Atlantic Asthma Foundation provides asthma education to all participants during these screening events and directs individuals to their physician for further asthma management.

Asthma Workshops:
Our 'Living Well with Asthma' events are held in a variety of Maryland communities. The meetings are facilitated by health care professionals who are experts in asthma management. The sessions are consists of topics such as: asthma basics, medications and devices, managing asthma triggers, and asthma management.

Educational workshops are offered to entities such as schools, churches, community groups, and worksites. Participants receive education on asthma and learn how to identify and manage asthma emergencies.

Asthma Resources:
Mid-Atlantic Asthma Foundation is aware of the financial barriers of asthma management. We have incorporated two support mechanisms to address these barriers. Through our 'Asthma Resource Program' we provide spacers, chambers, and peak flow meters to families unable to purchase these items. The Foundation also provides scholarships for children to attend asthma camp programs.
