The program included information on how to:

- Apply the clinical guidelines to assess their patient's asthma severity and prescribe treatment
- Assess how to monitor a patient's level of asthma control and adjust treatment as needed
- Identify tools to engage patients in asthma self-management, including controlling asthma triggers
- Describe the status of asthma in New Jersey
- Use the PACNJ Asthma Treatment Plan with children and adults in New Jersey

At the conclusion, both physicians and nurses received continuing education credits and attendess of this free Symposium each received a binder that included the power point presentations, patient self- management reproducible handouts in both English and Spanish and a pre-loaded flash drive with many of PACNJ's asthma resources, including a video on tracking your asthma triggers!

PACNJ's Asthma Symposium last week was a great success thanks to the wonderful speakers, our expert panel, the dedicated planning committee, enthusiastic attendees and funding from The NJ Department of Health! Check out some of our pictures on our facebook page!
