The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) is recruiting Spanish-speaking Certified Asthma Educators (AE-C) across the United States to join AAFA in field-testing newly translated asthma educational materials from the Wee Breathers™ program. This program was created by AAFA during a CDC-funded project and is available free-of-charge at www.aafa.org/WeeBreathers

This phase of the project involves field-testing Spanish-translated materials from the Wee Breathers™ program in two settings:

  • As a Home Visitor with one Spanish-speaking family who has a child with asthma under the age of 7.
  • In a Child Care Center with a group of Spanish-speaking families (10-20 parents) who have a child with asthma under the age of 7.

Field-Testing is currently scheduled for February through May 2014. For more information on this opportunity, please review the attached applications (Home Visitor or Child Care Center models). If you are interested, please submit your application to Jacqui Vok, the Project Manager, by January 24, 2014, for the best chance of securing one of the limited opportunities to field-test the materials.

We hope you can join us on this project, but if not, feel free to refer this opportunity to your qualified colleagues.  We anticipate having the Spanish materials completed in Fall 2014 and posted at www.aafa.org/WeeBreathers. Stay tuned!
