The Asthma Awareness Patch Program was developed by the Asthma Coalition of Long Island with the collaboration of Girl Scouts of the USA and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and has been supported by a grant from the New York State Department of Health to the American Lung Association of New York State, Inc.
The Girl Scout program is girl-driven, reflecting the ever-changing needs and interests of today’s girls.
The Girl Scout Leadership Experience engages girls in discovering self, connecting with others, and taking action to make the world a better place. All Girl Scout experience are designed to tie in one or more of the 15 outcomes of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
The Girl Scout Leadership Experience encourages girls to take increasing responsibility for designing and implementing their own activities, which results in extensive opportunities for them to see how their actions can impact the lives of others.
