Hennepin County is administering a HUD Healthy Homes grant to assess for and repair health and safety hazards in home located in suburban Hennepin County.

 

2011 Healthy Homes Production Grant Overview

  • HUD funded grant to fund assessment for and repair of healthy homes hazards
  • Hazards are identified though inspection and scored with the HUD Healthy Homes Rating System.
  • Hazards have included radon, home safety, mold, lead paint, moisture intrusion, pests, and dust
  • Repairs have included radon mitigation, repair of plumbing leaks, repair/replace water heaters, repair stairs, repair/install handrails, repair gutter systems, repair water damage, integrated pest management and sealing, mitigation for asthma triggers, and other safety items
  • Projects may be combined with lead grants, weatherization, and other rehab
  • Hennepin County Housing, Community Works & Transit will be the lead agency and will partner with Sustainable Resources Center
  • Brooklyn Center Schools - refer families with children with asthma to the program for home assessment and repair
  • Grant runs through Oct. 2014
