Hospital-based Training Program

The Boston Public Health Commission–Community Health Education Center provides standardized training for CHWs and has cultivated a network of more than 1,600 members. Its programs teach techniques for conducting outreach and education with various cultural groups as well as methods for expanding health knowledge on a range of topics. Programs are jointly designed by CHWs and experts in various health fields.

The Sinai Asthma Education Training Institute (SAETI) was established in 2006 as a training hub for the Sinai Asthma Program. The goal of SAETI is to provide CHWs and other local and national health care professionals with the skills needed to assist children and adults with asthma to improve asthma control and lead healthier lifestyles. In addition, SAETI aims to increase asthma awareness by providing education to staff of community-based organizations.
