The Utah Asthma Program and
The Utah Asthma Program and the Minnesota Asthma Program partnered to create Winning with Asthma, an online asthma education video. It can be completed at the coach's convenience. http://www.winningwithasthma.org/
After watching the video, the coaches complete a short test to assess knowledge. If they include their contact information, they will receive a clipboard in the mail. The clipboard is pre-printed with:
It also includes a booklet with information from the online training, as well as a General Emergency Protocol (similar to an Asthma Action Plan, with green/yellow/red zones)
We have used this for years in our state, and it's an excellent resource for the coaches.They can take the clipboard out on the field with them and simply flip it over to assess the pre-printed information on the back if a student has an asthma attack.
