Hello,

In light of COVID-19 and young children with asthma in school, many of us will be deliveing albuterol and other inhaled medications to students via MDI and spacer, however there are students with special needs and those of young age who are not able to effectively take inhaled medications by MDI / spacer. What methods of delivering nebulizer treatments safely to these students have been explored or discussed?

Thank you,

Dan

How about nebulizer machines at home. What are the the safe method to use if patient cannot use MDI and spacer for special circumstances and age?

Babies, special needs children and others can all use MDI medication with a spacer.  They would use a facemask spacer as opposed to a mouthpeice spacer and passive breathing is utilized.
