Asthma Home Visit Protocols

Posted on: 22 June 2011 By: rcostley

The Asthma Alliance of Indianapolis has provided home visits since 2004.  Recently we received grant funding from EPA Region 5.  AAI will be initiating an incentive program for our home visits.  We have vacuums, door mats, buckets, rags, detergent, etc.  Would anyone be willing to share information if you already have a program in place?

Asthma Policy

Hello Everyone,

I thought I'd put this topic up for discussion to see if anyone else is experiencing the same challenges or has any ideas to contribute.

developing an Asthma Action Plan Policy Development Committee. To require instead of recommend Asthma Action Plans for all school aged children in Connecticut.

I am looking for guidance if anyone had had experience on
this matter.

What are other Tribes doing to address asthma in your communities?

Posted on: 19 November 2010 By: jhause

I am curious what other Tribes are doing to address asthma in their communities. We recently had a Health Fair of sort with our General Tribal Meeting. There was a table set up with information about Indoor air pollutants and hand outs addressing some of these issues. As a Tribe without a reservation this sometimes makes it difficult to reach Tribal members. The Cowlitz Indian Tribe is one of the few Tribes that does not have a reservation and with the latest census not being available yet the numbers are somewhat scurried.

MA Community Events

Rhona (from Region 1 EPA) held a wonderful community event in Trotter Park, Dorchester, MA.  I just wanted to let everyone know how impressed I was with a family being managed by Boston Medical Center.
