In our community we are having trouble making the case both to providers and insurance companies that asthma is an important issue. ALA-UM - do you have any tips for getting providers interested in the subject of asthma? BCBS - what data internal or external made asthma an important topic for you?

We looked at our internal claims data and saw asthma as not only one of the most prevalent conditions across all geographies and almost every age group, but also as a significant driver of cost. It was not challenging to convince HCSC/BCBS to rally behind asthma as it has a significant impact on our company's bottom line.
