How many AE-C were hired to conduct the educational program?
Did the clinics then hire the staff that did the asthma program to continue to have a positive impact on asthma?
AE-C are experts in asthma ed....were they part of the program?
Did ALA/HCSC reimburse staff or was this done through the clinic's budget? or Grant?
Is the QI work by ALA of UM available in states which are not a part of the upper midwest?
Is Medicaid a partner in this effort? They cover the children with the highest burden of disease and the most needs.
Were weather or environmental exposures factored into any of the interventions?
What exactly were the parameters for the calculation of the ROI?
In ROI you used hospitalizations and EDs but what about including prescription meds and outpatient visits?
In our community we are having trouble making the case both to providers and insurance companies that asthma is an important issue. ALA-UM - do you have any tips for getting providers interested in the subject of asthma? BCBS - what data internal or external made asthma an important topic for you?
Do you have any insights to share about retaining children in school-based clinic asthma programs? You noted that your model has been successful in school-based clinics, and retention has been a problem in some school-based clinic programs.
