Does the Home Assessment include surveying the exposure to outdoor air (i.e. status of windows/doors).  Does the Home Assessment survey the outdoor exposures in close proximity (300 yards) to the home?  For example, what if crops are fertilized or crop dusted and are in close proximity to the home?  Folks are always talking about only 15% of time is spent outdoors.  However, patients carry in exposures into the home; whether pollen, VOC's, etc.

From Kevin:

For our program, we do look at the potential for exposure to various outdoor sources. We do a visual assessment of the home and look to see if there are any nearby outdoor pollution sources. Yes, we are considering sources somewhere around 300 Meters. For example: highways, railroads, point source pollution sources, etc. Even the trees outside of the home can be relevant sources of exposure to consider. Yes, outdoor vegetation in more rural areas is a facter we consider. You also hinted at another consideration and that is the seasonal nature of exposures. You might be at a home in the winter and need to ask about summer exposure risks based on what you observe when visiting the home.

Thanks, Kevin, for your response.  Excellent to see that you are factoring these issues into your assessment.  Other programs that I've been presented don't necessary do that.  Excellent presentation yesterday.
