The EHACE was established as a pilot program to address the disproportionate prevalence of asthma among children in East Harlem - compared with the rest of the City.
As part of its objectives and strategies: We provide asthma case management, parents & professional education/training, and environmental intervention services to reduce this health burden in the community. In addition, the program works to achieve these intervention objectives by partnering with other asthma/health care providers in the community, to facilitate best practices, identify and refer children with asthma to services, monitors asthma services provided for quality improvement and trends in asthma care & outcomes.
