How do you suggest programs conduct outreach to “hard to reach” populations/communities who may need our resources and care, but may be too nervous to go to a hospital or other formal medical setting?

The Healthy Breathing Program's goal is to reach the "hardest to reach." Our successes are very much a result of reaching out to potential partners and figuring out how we can benefit from their credibility in connecting with asthmatics who trust them and building out our engagement with those individuals from there. We also attend fairs and events that increase our visibility and familiarity among community members. We rely upon word of mouth as well. It's a multipronged approach to program recognition, building up our reputation as trustworthy, engaging directly with interested individuals and their families, and digging. We're always digging because we know asthmatics are there and have to be creative in how we connect to them.
