The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, Michigan Chapter provides accurate and reliable information and programs to assist patients, families, schools, health care staff, and employers better understand the nature, scope, treatment, and course of asthma and allergies through formal education and training, informal lectures, and community outreach.

GAP ensures that asthmatic patients have the education and resources necessary to help them manage their asthma effectively through individualized education, participation in local health fairs, and educational programs for local health care providers.

Children's Hospital Boston Community Asthma Initiative targets children age 2-18 who visit Children's Hospital as a result of asthma or an asthma-related complication, conducts an assessment of the family's needs for asthma care, then provides support, including asthma education, housing or legal advocacy, pest management, care coordination, and referrals to other social agencies.

The Asthma Regional Council brings together the six New England states to address the environmental contributors to asthma.

The goal of the Monroe Plan - Improving Asthma Care for Children is to improve the identification and diagnosis of children with asthma within the Monroe Plan population, to help patients and their families better manage their disease, and through outreach, to coordinate their care in primary care, specialty and school settings, with the overall result of improved health status and utilization of resources.

The AIR Program addresses the needs of people with frequent Emergency Department visits for asthma by helping patients to develop Asthma Action Plans in coordination with an Asthma Educator, communicate effectively with their care providers and understand how to correctly use and take medications.
