With the help of the Education and Public Subcommittee of the Asthma Alliance of North Carolina (AANC), the North Carolina Asthma Program has developed this asthma curriculum toolkit to help meet the current needs of children under the age of 5 and of the child care providers who care for them in North Carolina. Children under the age of 5 are of high priority within North Carolina, so providing asthma education information to those who care for them is also a high priority.

This guide is meant to help childcare providers improve the indoor air quality at their centers
by providing information on harmful indoor air and how to achieve a healthy environment.

Produced by the California asthma program, "California Breathing," in the California Department of Public Health, this guidance addresses both clinical asthma management and environmental triggers.
