Educate children and caretakers in the home and teach about asthma action plans, triggers, respiratory tools and strategies for dealing with asthma, medications and their role, premedication. All visits are a signed order by a PT primary doctor and caregivers' consent.

We provide asthma individual education classes and instruction with medications.. Program provides free screening, evaluations and treatment for asthma by an asthma/allergy specialist.

Our mission is to establish a “partnership” with the medical community to support and enhance the home management of chronic pulmonary conditions.

The Asthma Control Program in St. Mary's County focuses on children 2-18 years with asthma with the goal of decreasing emergency room visits, hospitalizations, and missed school days associated with asthma. The nurse makes a home visit to identify environmental triggers and provide remediation supplies, asthma teaching, and written follow-up to the patient's primary care provider, teacher, and parent.
