Experts recommend that both schools and families have a current asthma action plan for all school aged children with asthma. This CDPH approved plan includes important consent and authorization language as required by law (developed in statewide partnership with asthma stakeholders). Additional translations are available in CAPHI resources for schools.

We offer 2 main programs: An asthma outreach worker program and home environmental assessment training and visits. Tools available on the website include:

The FLARE plan is a comprehensive and concise tool to help patients receive discharge instructions based on the NAEPP Guidelines for asthma management.

Promote self-regulation among school age children

A program of the University of Michigan Center for Managing Chronic Disease developed with support from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, the Comprehensive School-Based Asthma Program (OAS+) was designed to improve health outcomes for children with asthma including asthma symptoms, school grades and school absences.

Attack on Asthma Nebraska is partnering with the Nebraska Department of Education to provide education, training and medications for implementation of the protocol Emergency Response to Life-Threatening Asthma or Systemic Allergic Reactions (Anaphylaxis). The Nebraska State Board of Education mandated this protocol in a unanimous vote on May 2, 2003 for implementation by May of 2004. All accredite
