Meskwaki Natural Resources exists to preserve, conserve, and restore the natural resources of the Tribe. Department actions are undertaken to uphold the sovereign rights of the Tribe, provide for future generations, strengthen the Meskwaki culture, and protect Grandmother Earth.

The Air Quality Flag Program alerts schools and organizations to the local air quality forecast and helps them to take actions to protect people’s health, including those with asthma.

Educate on the issues with Indoor Air Quality and how to improve it.

The Spokane Tribal Air Quality Program provides free home visits for families with asthma on the Spokane Indian Reservation.

National Native Commercial Tobacco Abuse Prevention Network (NNCTAPN) Mission: To provide a forum for tribes and tribal organizations to obtain and disseminate evidence-based and culturally appropriate information in order to identify and eliminate health disparities related to commercial tobacco abuse.

The Healthy Homes Working Group tribes the opportunity to exchange research and best practices, highlight strategies, successes and challenges in IAQ outreach and education, and create a model for effective home interventions in tribal communities.

U.S. EPA Region 10 provides outreach and education on environmental air quality to villages.

The goal of Healthy Homes is to assist Cowlitz County residents in learning about common health risks in the home associated with asthma, allergies, and other breathing problems. Trained volunteers work with the resident, to perform an in-home assessment that locates common triggers known to aggravate breathing conditions. Some examples include mold and mildew, dust mites, pet dander, and secondhand smoke. Then, the volunteer and resident develop a simple action plan that includes low or no-cost ways in which to make the suggested improvements.
