Our "Asthma-Friendly Child Care" project reduces the incidence of asthma, asthma related complications and hospitalizations among children who are in child care settings. Our project provides asthma prevention and management training to child care providers and parents through individualized on-site consultation and group trainings. Training and resources are provided in Spanish, Chinese and English.

Asthma Coalition of Mississippi

The Asthma Coalition of Mississippi (ACM) strives to eliminate asthma among Mississippians by promoting education, prevention, and management of asthma throughout the state. The coalition is divided into nine regional districts (corresponding to the state's nine Public Health Districts) each containing six work groups (advocacy/policy, community, data/surveillance, environment, health care, and school health).

Fox Valley Asthma Coalition

FVAC members promote and provide asthma education in area schools, sporting organizations, and in local Fox Valley communities. Our target audiences are school staff, youth sports coaches and day care staff. Several coalition members are trained to present Asthma 101 ALA program and Live Well, Breathe Well program. Our current projects include training for local pharmacists and clinicians in the use of Asthma Care Fax, partnering with GSK to sponsor Rx for Change, tobacco cessation training and community outreach at YMCA Healthy Kids Day.

American Lung Association in CA-Inland Counties

The American Lung Association in California's San Bernardino office provides various asthma programs. The OAS PLUS program is our school-based asthma education program, which includes Open Airways for Schools, Kickin' Asthma, Asthma 101 and Exercise & Asthma. These classes provide the education and information necessary for students and their caretakers to better manage their asthma. We also offer a home-based asthma education program; a community health worker provides in-home asthma education and asthma friendly supplies. All of our programs aim to reach the many families affected by asthma.

Georgia Childhood Asthma Management Program

Healthcare Georgia Foundation launched the Georgia Childhood Asthma Management Program to support programs that improve health outcomes for children and adolescents with asthma. The program supports five grantees throughout Georgia to establish and support coordinated, comprehensive, evidence-based programs that foster linkages among those responsible for children's asthma care (providers, schools, community organizations, and families).

West Oakland Asthma Coalition

For the past ten years we have been teaching Open Airways for Schools and Tools for Schools in West Oakland. We have recently aquired a BreathMobile and are now able to teach and treat students in schools. We are a non-profit with the mission of reaching out to our community to address the signs, symptoms, triggers and treatment of asthma.

Our Asthma programs are designed to reach out to any child or adult living with asthma in the state of Oregon. Our goals are to decrease the burden of Asthma, decrease the number of smokers, increase number of organizations working toward clean air for our schools, homes, and communities. We train leaders for adult and childhood asthma, self-management education programs.
