The Ohio Department of Health Asthma Program (ODHAP) began in 1998 with funding from the Public Health Prevention Block Grant from CDC. The program is housed within the Office of Health Improvement and Wellness (OHIW) - Bureau of Maternal Child Health. The Ohio Department of Health’s Comprehensive Asthma Control Through Evidence-based Strategies and Public Health - Health Care Collaboration is a federal grant funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for a five-year cycle for the period of Aug. 1, 2014 to July 31, 2019. The District Department of Energy & Environment's (DDOE) Lead-Safe and Healthy Homes program and its DC Partnership for Healthy Homes work to identify and end asthma, lead, and other environmental health and safety threats, and to improve energy efficiency. Eligible participants receive a home environmental assessment and energy audit, family education, an asthma management diagnostic, and case management coordination.
