The Healthy Neighborhoods Program is a free in-home health and safety assessment and intervention program for residents of targeted areas of Niagara County, NY. Public Health Technicians come to the home and assist the resident in identifying health and safety hazards, asthma triggers, indoor pollutants and potential lead poisoning problem areas. Free smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, asthma relief products and cleaning products may all be available to the resident according to need. The Office of Healthy Homes and Lead Hazard Control (OHHLHC) is unique among federal agencies. HUD's Office of Healthy Homes and Lead Hazard Control was established to eliminate lead-based paint hazards in America's privately-owned and low-income housing and to lead the nation in addressing other housing-related health hazards that threaten vulnerable residents.

One of the most important things we can do to protect our children's future is make sure they grow up in a healthy natural environment. Because children are especially vulnerable to the unhealthy effects of pollution, the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality has initiated the Children's Environmental Health Project to integrate children's health concerns into our state's environmental protection efforts.
