Managing Asthma in the School Community provides education to the teachers and staff at schools prior to the start of the school year that discusses managing asthma triggers in the classroom, gym, sports and after school activities.

Maricopa County Asthma Coalition members include representatives from state, county and local public health departments, environmental health agencies/experts, community non-profit organizations, school nurses, head start administrative staff, health care professional, hospitals, community clinics, health care plans, business, pharmaceutical companies and parents of children with asthma.

The Maryland Asthma Control Program (MACP) has developed an asthma surveillance system, a statewide asthma plan, and implemented interventions in collaboration with the Maryland Asthma Coalition and under the guidance of the Maryland Asthma Executive Committee.

MAAP is a 200-member coalition with a mission to reduce disparities in asthma care for communities in MA disproportionately impacted by Asthma. The Master Home Environmentalist program offers an innovative approach to addressing issues of indoor pollution that can exacerbate asthma by training volunteers to visit homes at no cost and to assist residents in assessing and managing environmental health problems.

Mather High School Wellness Committee works to promote student health, including asthma management.

A new program in McLeod County, this program consists of nurse home visits that will help reduce environmental triggers in homes of children with asthma.

The Mecklenburg County Asthma Coalition coordinates a comprehensive community effort that includes patient and community education, the promotion of healthy environments, and the improvement asthma care through partnerships between patients and health care providers in order to improve the quality of life for those with asthma.

MedEd Consultants Provides a comprehensive in-home asthma education to asthmatics, with a total of 4 visits in a period of 6 months, to eliminate asthma exacerbation, reduce ED visits, Reduce Unscheduled doctors' visits, and reduce missed school or workdays. We have an environmental component to this program which helps the patient improve the living conditions by eliminating asthma triggers.

The Merck Childhood Asthma Network, Inc. (MCAN) is a nonprofit organization funded by the Merck Company Foundation.

The Asthma Disease Management Program operates within the Quality Improvement and Care Coordination Departments. The goal of the Asthma Disease Management Program is to improve the health status for Meridian members with asthma using a multi-disciplinary, population-based approach and to manage health care costs by promoting evidence-based diagnosis and treatment while assisting members to achieve optimal control of their disease through adherence to treatment plans including self monitoring and appropriate medical testing.
