Who is the Mid-Atlantic Asthma Foundation? The Mid-Atlantic Asthma Foundation is a Non-profit organization, established to assist individuals living with asthma in achieving asthma control. It was founded in 2004 to help address the growing need for asthma education. The mission of the Mid-Atlantic Asthma Foundation is to help people manage asthma through education, asthma screenings, and attainment of resources. We provide services to many communities throughout Maryland with a vision to expand our efforts into the Mid-Atlantic region.
The Mid-Atlantic Center for Children's Health and the Environment is located at Children's National Medical Center and offers free consultation and educational programming on environmental management of pediatric asthma. The objectives of MARAN are to establish a network of stakeholders to implement the National Asthma Strategy and to provide an educational forum to exchange information about issues pertaining to the asthma epidemic in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Mission Children’s Hospital serves the 21 most rural and isolated counties in North Carolina. This area’s diverse minority population faces some of the greatest health disparities in the state, and further, the majorty of Mission Children’s Hopsital patients are uninsured or underinsured. Pediatric asthma, unsurprisingly, is one of these disparate health concerns. Through an innovative and bold approach designed to meet the unique needs of this population and to impact minority children suffering from asthma in a significant way, Mission Hospital developed the Regional Asthma Disease Management Program (RADMP).

Indoor mold growth has been shown to increase the possibility of developing asthma and can cause an increase of problems for those that already have asthma. We are a nationwide network of certified mold inspectors that collect air and surface samples from a property to determine if mold is a problem.
