Community Asthma Education

The Asthma Institute provides clinical services, performs research on asthma, and conducts community health screenings.

This FREE online course recognizes the critical role allied health professionals play in educating and caring for patients with asthma. Course content conforms with the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program (NAEPP) 2007 Expert Panel Report 3: Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Asthma. This program has been approved for 7 CE credits by the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC) and 7 CRCE hours by the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC).

The Asthma Management Education Program was initiated in 2002 to promote the health of Georgia's school-age children with asthma by increasing asthma knowledge among the professionals who care for them.

The Asthma Management Program, composed of volunteers from local hospitals, clinics, schools, and health agencies, organizes fundraising opportunities and provides educational services throughout the year.

The Asthma Network of West Michigan (ANWM) is a West-Michigan based, multi-organizational community partnership that brings together the wisdom and experience of many disciplines involved with pediatric and adult asthma.

We see patients of all agaes and do education on meds, spacers, environment.

The Asthma Program aims to reduce asthma exacerbation, ER visits, and missed school and work days from asthma by educating families through home and asthma clinic visits.

Children's Health Center is a free standing, non-profit primary care clinic and the primary training site for the UCSF Fresno pediatric residents and rotating medical students. The clinic is the medical home for the majority of the underprivileged, underserved, under insured, children from poor income, urban population of the Fresno metro area. Our asthma program focuses on patient education, provider education and Continuous Quality Improvement of our asthma services. Through two successive State funded asthma initiatives from 2005 to 2009 (BPCA and IAC) we have successfully implemented changes in our asthma care practices with significant impact on the asthma care standards, reduced hospitalization rates, ED visits, and improved Quality of Life in asthmatic children.

The vision of the Asthma Program of Union Hospital is to collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and health care professionals to bring educational excellence in controlling asthma.

Advocate Health Care's Asthma Program aims to decrease ED re-visits and inpatient re-admissions for asthma by following an approach consistent with the NHLBI guidelines.

The Asthma Ready™ Communities program is an initiative aimed at equipping local communities to be prepared to implement national guidelines for the management of childhood asthma.

The Asthma Regional Council brings together the six New England states to address the environmental contributors to asthma.

Qualified participants will receive study related medical care medication and compensation for time and travel no insurance is needed.
